The GigaDVP, due to its largely programmable architecture can be adapted to a wide range of applications that require any of the above capabilities or a combination of these.
GigaDVP architecture
The GigaDVP video processor comprises a serialiser and de-serialiser circuit. These circuits provide input an output to a proprietary video processing unit implemented in programmable logic. Two memory blocks supply data and instructions to the video processing unit. These two memory blocks are completely independant so that one can be prepared while the other is being displayed. A fast RISC microcontroller is used to manage the unit and prepare the video signal data stream.
