Summary of capabilities:

• Reads timecode in various formats: LTC, DVITC, ANC

• Converts timecode from format/standard to another
• Decode/encode Close Caption (including Text, XDS (including v-chip)
• Encode the STM or similar data carrying signal
• Display text (character generator) and subtitles

• General purpose inputs and ouputs (GPI)

The µGVP, due to its largely programmable architecture can be adapted to a wide range of applications that require one or more of the above capabilities. The µGVP allows significant savings due to its multi-functionnality, its low power consumption (typ. < 200ma at 12V), and its compact size (three units in a single rack space).

µGVP architecture

The Micro GVP video processor comprises a serialiser and de-serialiser circuit. These circuits provide input an output to a proprietary video processing unit implemented in programmable logic. A memory block supplies data to the video processing unit. A fast 8 bit RISC microcontroller is used to manage the unit and prepare the video signal data stream. The Micro GVP has additional circuitry for two LTC reader, one LTC generator and up to eight GPIs.
