Standard µTC units
µTCR
VITC/LTC timecode reader
- Reads VITC, LTC or both
- Automatically detects timecode source (LTC, VITC)
- Searches video lines for VITC
- Automatically detects standards (NTSC, PAL)
- Measures difference between LTC and VITC to 500 ns resolution
- In video display
Detailed description: Contact Gélogic
µTCG
VITC/LTC time code generator
- Generates VITC on selected line (line 10 to 20)
- VITC repeat on second to next line
- Generates LTC
- Simultaneously generates LTC and VITC with sub-microsecond timing accuracy
Detailed description Contact Gélogic
µTCI
LTC to VITC time code converter/inserter

Detailed description Contact Gélogic
µTCP
LTC time code processor
- Reads LTC
- Multi-standard with autodetect
- Generates LTC in same standard as synchronization (video) input
- Resync LTC to video reference
Detailed description Contact Gélogic
µTCW
The µTCW integrates two LTC readers, an (optional) LED display and a serial interface (RS232, RS422 or RS485). It is particularly useful in automation applications where time of day and document timecode are required.
Twin LTC time code readers
- Reads LTC on two channels
- Sends time code and /or user bits to serial port
Detailed description Contact Gélogic
Features common to all standard models:
- table top or rack mount packaging
- wall mounted power supply
- serial port for setup, control, data transmission/retrieval
- setup/control software (PC, Windows)
Typical µTC applications
Custom µTC units
The µTC (Micro TC) family is based on a platform featuring a wide range of capabilities.
These capabilities can be combined, within the limits of the available resources.
The Micro TC can:
- read LTC on audio port 1
- read LTC on audio port 2
- generate LTC on audio port 2
- read VITC
- insert VITC
- display time/data on LED display
- display time/data in video in 7 segment display
- display one to four lines of 32 characters of text (4 fixed pitch fonts).
- display up to two lines of text in a wide selection of quasi proportional fonts,
including greek, arabic, cyrillic, hebraic, inuit and others fonts.
- display time/data from VITC in video in fixed pitch or proportional fonts
- display logo, with variable area (such as time, date, score, etc...)
- display bar graphs (VU, PPM or other)
- communicate via serial port (RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485)
- support multi-point connection (with RS-422 or RS-485)
- read close caption (line21) data, and display, send to computer or re-encode.
- insert close caption (line21) data, from computer or other encoding.
- insert custom encoded data in VBI.
- read custom encoded data in VBI.
- support expansion modules through an SPI port (GPI board, DSP board)
This flexible platform can be used to implement several synchronization, processing,
display and communication functions. From this still expanding range of capabilities,
custom equipment can be configured to special requirement. Generally, the Micro TC can
integrate in a single compact and economical unit, functions that would require multiple
often more expensive units.
Extensive software support is available for configuration, setup, control, development and
system integration.
The Micro TC platform is also the basis of the µSTM and µCC families of subtitling and captioning equipment.
